Outside of the city - Safe house
After the smoke cleared and the battle settled, all was quiet at the Klein Mansion. Nothing but the moon's haunting glow cast down on the three story house. The fires raged on with sirens ringing in the background, but no evidence of Jasmine Klein would be found. Markus - the murderer who killed Frost's dear cousin and child was finally put in his grave. All the bodies purposely burned including the Mansion. All her tracks covered - the police officers and firefighters would be arriving in due time, but they would not find Jasmine Klein.
Instead, she returned to the city. She found an old safe house that was secure and free of bugged telephones and other communication devices. It was a small house away from the busy cities other gigantic buildings. Settled down after a long hot shower, Jasmine seemed to find her inner peace or so it seemed.
Madonna's "Paradise not for me" played in the background of the small one story house. A small picture frame clung to her hands. A glass of white whine in the other with the mutant now able to grieve quietly.
She had heard of the party being held tonight in the Senator's behalf, but Jasmine was hardly in the partying mood. Usually she would crash the party but because she had not been invited she declined to go. A drastic change for her with everything that happened over the week. She pondered about calling one of the Six but who? She barely knew any of them and with her behavior lately she was positive she alienated all of them.
Wiping away a tear she sipped her wine before realizing sitting around was just making it worse. Scooping up the television remote, she saw the race was still going on. But Sharon was in the lead by probably a thousand votes or more. Jasmine hoped the Senator one the race - she more than deserved it.
Sitting back on the small sofa she continued to watch coverage of the race. Her mood gloomy and her eyes red and puffy from crying. Despite the line of work she was in, death was never easy for her. Her eyes fell down to her small Motorola flip phone, picking it up. The florescent blue lights lighting up the keypad.
The number for Illustra was found in her address book her thumb close to dialing. She was tempted to call Morgan - a very unlikely woman to reach out to but she was still Jasmine's half sister. Sighing she closed her phone and tossed it across the small sofa.
Getting to her feet, Jasmine decided to attend the Rainbow room but first she needed to find a suitable dress for the event. It would be good for the mutant to get out rather than shut the world out.
