What do you read?

I'm pretty new to comics, to get started I read allot of Wiki pages and online stuff to catch up on characters and then just kinda jumped in.

I've only been reading marvel, and started with X-Men (It's the only one I was really familiar with) from issue one, but got a bit bored as they were kinda dated, so jumped to the start of X-Men Legacy, I was also reading First Class and then some of the smaller "Mini Series" that focus on characters, Emma Frost, Storm, etc. or some particular arc like House of M, the Phoenix End song/War Song.

I also started reading Civil War (as I'd played the X-Box game that focused of Civil War) and I'm halfway through it, reading random issues of different series according to chronological order for Civil war.

I read all of Runaways from start to finish, and I've started on Avengers, reading Avengers Academy, Secret Avengers, just cuz I didn't have to go back to far to start from issue one.

I hate starting stuff in the middle of things, so always like to go from a start point, which is bloody hard to do with comics.

Just wondering how other people read comics, do you read in bulk or individual issues as they come out, or what series you read?

I prefer TPB over individual issues both for storing and because i like to read the story all at once rather then in pieces. Though that might change with DC's new digital subscription initiative. Right now I'm reading:

I never really gotten into DC and/or Marvel [which is weird considering I watch movies/tv about them]. Not even the Buffy or Angel comics.

Archie's my guy.

I used to read some Archie comics, specifically the "Betty & Veronica" title! :nod: I was so into them as a girl @ one point I had a subscription to the B&V double digest & Cheryl Blossom's comic too.

It's hard to believe those characters have been around since the 40s!!! They remain forever young & teenaged lol! talk about immortality

I really don't think so, the show and the comic deviates from each other.

For me the comic is better than the show, and i think the show is good.

objectively its good but i just can't make any connection with any of the characters. try it and check it out you may like it.

Its really a matter of just wading through to find what you like. if you haven't been a fan in a while or don't know where to start a good thing to do is check local libraries for TPBs (trade paper backs) or you can find a spot near you that sells them and just look for what appeals to your eyes.

DC just rebooted their line so everything is on issue 6 or 7 right now. so they're at the prefect jumping on point. With Marvel you can look for either .1 issues or check for the whats at the opening arch (They're about to begin their next big event soon Avengers Vs X-men so they should have jumping on points either during or after that)

oh and if you find a title you like between all of us on the board we can help you with the essentials for nearly everything.
