Shooting in Ottawa, Canada

hmm. this is certainly serious, but it does look like the whole story isn't being told. we in america are all too familiar w/ situations like this. :(

stuff like this always begs that question & i think our gov'ts WANT that. they want citizens to be overly fearful. i notice that in the articles you posted, they talked about the "radicalized" canadian who drove his car INTO canadian police, they seem to be implying that all of this could be ISIS related.

But the police wont say how many gunmen are involved or if they are still @ large. they just want the city to "remain alert". that reminds me of what happened in the boston bombing when they locked the city down w/ a "shelter in place" order for several days.

I appreciate that they don't want to create mass hysteria over this, I can, but I'd rather know that it is a terrorist thing.

A friend of mine thinks that this isn't related at all.

However, this is the second situation this week.

I really don't know what to believe. :(

damn, this is the type of story you expect about the US not Canada

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't waiting for something like this to happen here. :(

Now they are saying that Zehaf-Bibeau [gunman] had no ties to Monday's incident where another convert to Islam ran over two of our soldiers killing one in Quebec.

I must admit that I really don't believe in coincidences. Okay, maybe they DID act alone and maybe they DIDN'T know each other, but as smart as ISIS has been? I find it hard to believe that the two weren't related on some obscure level that nobody knows about.

He DID have 'connections' to jihadists here in Canada though, however, he wasn't part of a bigger network [they SAY].

I still say it was terrorist attack. :sure:
