Ron Paul...I don't think so

I, too, believe that human life begins at the moment of conception.

I don't know what my thoughts are on abortion. I don't like the idea of it, I know that much. But, I also feel that in extreme cases, such as a traumatic rape or some situation where the mother's life is in jeopardy or something even more horrific, then abortion should be okay.

I really detest #7.

For everyone who believe that human life begins at conception...

If that is true then for every that has ever lived there are several (perhaps dozens) that were never born.

Not trying to rain on your parade, just pointing that out as food for thought.

Personally, I am not prepared to accept embryos as life until week 20, about the earliest they could even think of surviving outside the womb. I support abortion in pretty much all cases except simply at-will after week 20.

i tend to agree on that topic, garrick.

technically any cell that divides is "life" BUT as far as a pregnancy goes...there are many stages of development before we're talking about a fetus or even a zygote & thus, an acceptable window for terminating a pregnancy w/out crossing the line into the barbaric realm of "partial birth abortions"

as for Ron Paul, SL? he's a scarey individual but what's even more scarey is how so many people are being taken in by his foolishness! :sure:

I like most of what Ron Paul says. He's an actual conservative. However, I can't get behind his foreign policy. We live in a global community now, we can't afford to be isolationists. I also think if we have the ability to help others, we have the responbsibility to help. How exactly that helps plays out is certainly open for debate, but I do think it's a necessity and a duty. I would not likely vote for him in the primary, but if he's the candidate running against Obama, he would probably get my vote.

My issue with him is his decidedly racially insensitive views. That combined with his horrible FA outlook makes him a no-go for me.
