Persephone was stressing out about Liam's nursery and how to decorate it. Earlier in the week Alek and Mr. Anastas cleared out one of the guest bedrooms and moved the furniture into storage. But as of right now, it was a completely blank slate. With Lily and Lucas their nursery themes came so easily to Persephone, but for some reason she was having a hard time trying to think of something unique for Liam, yet stick with the same bear theme that all her children had.
Alek: "Maybe mythology? Greek and Norse heroes and that sort of thing?"
"That would be cute if baby stores weren't obsessed with ducks and zoo animals. Trying to find Greek an Norse type of nursery items will be impossible."
Groaning out with frustration, all she wanted was for the nursery to be unique and just as adorable as Lily and Lucas'. Not to mention make it different than Lucas' so he wouldn't feel like the baby was taking over his space. Overall Persephone was just worried in general with how the kids were going to react.
Alek: "It's bound to be an adjustment for both kids, but we just have to make sure they each get attention from both of us. And I'll spend extra time with Lucas, just like you did with Lily."
"Yeah...you're right."
Though her words didn't sound very confident. Alek walked over to the couch and sat next to her. Olympus lifted his head and climbed off the couch to give them some space, laying down by their feet.
Alek: "Everything will be fine - we just have to take things one day at a time and deal with issues as they come."
"I know...I know..."
She exhaled, letting the stress leave her body. Alek's hand went to her stomach and Persephone smiled, placing hers on top of his.
Alek: "You'll make this baby feel just as loved and unique as you have the other two. And Lucas and Lily will be fine. We have the three greatest kids in the world."
Alek kissed her cheek and grinned, making Persephone smile widely in return.
"We do make pretty great babies, huh?"
Persephone kept Alek's hand on her stomach as she leaned in and pressed her lips against his. Cupping his face, she deepened the kiss before smiling.
"Thank you."
She whispered against them, fully intending on kissing him again until she heard the familiar sound of wind fill the room. Olympus jumped up, his tail wagging as Demeter, Lily, and Lucas all appeared in a tornado of gold light.
Lily and Lucas: "DADDY! MOMMY/MAMA!"
Persephone's smile brightened immediately as Lily and Lucas both ran from Demeter's side to both her and Alek. Lily came to Persephone and Lucas to Alek; Persephone wrapping her arms around Lily and hugging her tightly.
"I've missed you both so much!"
She exclaimed, Lily giggling as she gripped her little around arm Persephone's neck.
"Have you gotten bigger?! I swear you've gotten bigger..."
Persephone pulled back to look at Lily with a smile, brushing her wind blown hair away from her face. Lily laughed, shaking her head.
Lucas: "MAMA!"
Lily and Lucas switched, Lily giggling as she bear hugged Alek and Persephone picking up Lucas into her lap, hugging him tightly.
"Ughhhh you're so big too. What have you been feeding them?"
Persephone laughed looking up at Demeter.
Demeter: "They take after their father."
Demeter winked at Alek and Persephone rolled her eyes with amusement as she shook her head. Her mother always had to say something about Alek. Giving Lucas one more squeeze before lifting him over to Alek, Lily was sitting on one knee and Persephone put Lucas on his other. Standing from the couch she smiled before embracing her mother.
"Thank you again for taking them for the week."
Demeter: "You never have to thank me, darling. I love having them with me."
Smiling, Persephone pulled back from Demeter just as her mother placed her hand on Persephone's stomach. Demeter smiled warmly to which Persephone returned.
Demeter: "And I can't wait to watch them them all again."
Demeter winked before embracing Persephone again and whispering congratulations in her ear. She smiled over at Alek who was still holding the kids before finally taking a step back from Persephone.
Persephone: "Say goodbye to grandma."
Lily: "Bye grandma!!"
Lucas: "Bye bye!"
Demeter: "Goodbye my darlings! I'll see you soon!"
And with that, Demeter disappeared in a tornado of lights. Persephone had a big smile as she looked at her kids smiling and giggling while sitting on Alek's lap. She unconsciously placed her hand on her stomach, the thought of one more in his arms absolute perfection.
"Guess what daddy made....?"
Persephone's voice a sing song playful tone. Lily gasped in and Lucas' eyes went big.
Lily: "Bear toast!"
Lucas: "YAAAAAY!"
Lily hopped off Alek's lap excitedly. Lucas had a little bit of a harder time, sliding off Alek's knee, down the couch, and falling on his little bum before scrambling to his feet. Persephone laughed as she watched him follow Lily into the kitchen. Walking over to Alek as he stood up, Persephone wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him, her head resting against his chest as she watched Lily and Lucas climb onto the bar stools to their respective bear treats.
"So...when do you think we should tell them?"
Alek: "Maybe mythology? Greek and Norse heroes and that sort of thing?"
