Has anyone read this book yet? My mom gave it to me for my birthday and I inhaled it in like three days. So, so good.

Ohhh I highly recommend it, it’s equal parts hilarious and thought-provoking.

I believe it’s a play on dickens David copper field. I haven’t read it but I love this author and read a lot of her short stories and essays in college. The Poisonwood Bible from her is really great too!

Not really any actual snakes lol, so you’re totally safe there. Copperheads are discussed briefly in the beginning of the book but I don’t remember there actually being one

Yes, I need to go back and read Poisonwood Bible because it’s been like 15 years and I don’t remember anything about it.

It is indeed a modern homage to the Dickens classic.

I ended up purchasing this, and just finished it. It’s very good. Like Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch. Really great characters, and I feel like I learned a lot I didn’t know.
