Strictly teleporting power- For Marvel, I'd pick Magik first, then Lila Cheney.

Magik's stepping discs allow for time/space teleportation, give her a 7 out of 7 for speed on marvel's stat chart & can be used defense/offense. She can teleport @ least up to 10 ppl although in 2nd Coming it showed her teleporting a dozen ppl @ one point. Her teleporting power was such that the Human Council (bastion etc) deemed her one of the biggest threats to their operation to destroy mutants & paid BIG BUCKS to lay their hands on technology that would allow them a ONE SHOT chance to override her stepping disc & cause her to be pulled into it by hostile demonic forms. They called it "Operation: White Devil". Ultimately their weapon failed but still...that's pretty desperate on their part.

Lila Cheney: she's often billed as an "inter-galactic", "celestial scale" or "long distance teleporter". she's got a 7 out 7 for speed & she can jaunt from here to damn near eternity lol. her dyson sphere is a curious halfway mark between her start & ending point. she famously teleported Gosamyr's destructive monster relatives into the sun & seemingly sacrificed herself. the dyson sphere was ultimately what she used to escape. she also single handedly turned the tide in the battle with the shi'ar & x-men vs. the skrulls, who very nearly won until she prooved to be an invaulable wild card.

Worst Teleporters-

Ariel- Formerly of the Fallen Angels, she joined the X-men & various mutants on Utopia, when the Human Council started targeting teleporters & Magik was temporarily lost, they called on Ariel for back up. She has to have a physical DOOR to open & walk through in order to teleport & it has to be a door as in a closet door...not a car door. It's so LAME. needless to say, she was killed damn near right out the gate when trying to fill in for Magik.

Nightcrawler- He may be a swashbuckling, charming fighter & excellent leader, but he's a shitty teleporter! He can only teleport line of sight & can only carry one or two other passengers before the strain is too much for him. Unlike Magik or Lila, he can't teleport "blind" either.

& um....does DC even HAVE any notable teleporters besides the magick users?

they always have, at least in the way the charactes are maintained even when a character/title passes from one writing team to another & when it comes to measuring power levels. but they've also copied off each other too. Power Princess of Squadron Supreme, along w/ Hyperion are not so subtle marvel allusions to DC's Wonder Woman & Superman.

Ms. Marvel=Starfire
Marvel Girl III=Raven
Silver Claw=Beast Boy (that one could be a stretch but there's a valid comparison just the same)

so that's why i got to thinking when listing my picks for the best & worst of Marvel's teleporters...I realized that aside from Circe, I cant even NAME someone who'd be billed as a teleporter in DC.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just thinking that the power sets of DC characters tend to be...less..."magickal" for lack of a better word.

Apparently Supergirl can teleport sometimes lol, and I guess Raven can.

Misfit of the Birds of Prey can teleport but can't take organic life with her, Raven can too and Warp of the Brotherhood of Evil but he more opens portals

supergirl?! you know everytime i get to following her, her title ENDS. after her original death in the late 80s, they brought her back as this kick ass w/ telekinetic powers in addition to her superman based powers but Matrix turned out to be some kind of alient symbiote creature. then she was Supergirl/Linda Danvers & had aspects of an ANGEL in addition to her powers. then she was revamped again to simply be Kara, Superman's cousin...more like the original version. She had a nice debut w/ Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman & Darkseid all involved & then went to train w/ Wondergirl II & the amazons to learn how to better fight & control her powers. She's supposed to be good friends w/ Wonder Girl II. Is THAT the version that can teleport?

oh and Swamp Thing (and other elementals) can too using the Green (or their own element) as a connector

Boom Tube and Thanagarian teleporter technology combined with the common flight/superspeed pair in heroes has made teleportation a near-useless power in DC.

In MU however, there are no teleportation devices to really speak of, so you see more of them.

The most impressive teleporters in MU by far would be Magik, Lila, any avatar of Galactus and anyone wielding Mjolnir.

I thought that Lila had the ability to carry more people farther? In any case, out of those four people/sets of people I would rank Magik last for pure teleportation. For the ability to use it in pretty cool ways in COMBAT I would put her first.

I was thinking about the boomtube but i couldnt remember if that was darkseid's personal teleport signature or if it was external technology :)

the only teleport device in marvel that i can recall is Viper II's teleport ring.

Lila can carry whoever is within the range of her telemat field. So the number isnt the issue, its who all is within her range @ that time she activates. She teleported Gosamyr's entire family into the sun & these were GIGANTIC creatures ....@ least 4 or 5.

It's been stated that Magik can carry up to 10 ppl in one disc w/ no concentrated effort. But there was that time she opened a disc to encompass manhattan during the inferno so that suggests she could do much more. the human council declared her the most potant mutant teleporter when they were targeting the teleporters for elimination, she was the one they deemed most critical to eliminate.

her power also allows her to go through TIME, forward or backward & using Limbo as her "dyson sphere" if you will...she can go ANYWHERE. She teleported from Earth to the Shi'ar galaxy several times.

I'd say she & Lila are tied for distance but Magik beats her for the time/temporal teleportation. they're also tied for speed.

Good points all. Wielders of Mjolnir have all of those abilities with no limitation known to the number of people carried. I would give them a spot at the top to at least share.

I didnt recall any of galactus' heralds being able to teleport. Granted the only ones i CLEARLY remember are Nova, Dazzler & Silver Surfer, but Nova flew unaided, Surfer had his board & Dazzler skated on celestial trails of solid light that she generated. Who else was there?

Mjolnir is impressive & definite one of Marvel's most epic talismans, right alongside the Soul Sword  I only followed Thor during his times on the Avengers & I remember in Vol III when he opened a portal so they could pull a MASSIVE piece of machinery the team had confiscated from A.I.M. out of their warehouse & send it into space before it exploded. I've also seen Storm use it to teleport the X-men from Earth to Asgard & the Magik returned everyone home.

It's hard for me to think of Thor as a "magick user" b/c he typically preferrs brawn over magick but when he has used the hammer to open portals or even scour the morlock tunnels to remove all traces of the mutant massacre, that was pretty impressive.

the only person in Marvel with teleportation tech that i can think of is Thanos, Dr Doom through use of his time pad/cube tech and the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Guardians's tech is dependent on the decapitated Celestial head they use as a base.

oh and Cloak of Cloak and Dagger can teleport too nearly forgot about him like most people.

Being the Exiles fanboy that i am i will throw in:

Blink
From the AoA reality, ok so she couldn't teleport to far away planets, but she could take you pretty much wherever you wanted to go on earth, and the way she could use her teleportation powers to evacuate the battlefield was also something i found impressive.

Also the way she used her powers offensively, especially against Hyperion (sending his own eyebeams right into his back, and another time teleporting half a ton of sand inside his body)
Trained by AoA Sabretooth i always found her to be good at transport and at holding her own in a fight.

Worst?
Not so sure.
But Ariel, needing a door to teleport=kinda lame.

Black King
Black King
As another Exile fanboy lets have a moment of silence for that title
