Avengers movie character roster

I KNEW they'd omit The Wasp even though Janet Van Dyne was a FOUNDING MEMBER, while Captain America (who the movie bills as "the first avenger") was NOT.

They include Black Widow...I've no problem w/ the character but I don't like the idea of her being in the movie marking the debut of the Avengers.

i really don't think either Janet or Pym have any shot at being in the movies for a while simply because 1, their powers are "silly" and 2, everyone agrees they have almost nil appeal outside of the comic reading sec

to say their power sets are "silly?" that's a bit unfair for either of them, especially the wasp who demonstrated a clear amount of character growth & also has a few impressive solo victories to her creditincluding a battle against Storm & a battle w/ a [non adamantium] Ultron; not to mention her distinction of being considered one of the best Avengers leaders (by Cap, Thor & Iron Man).

but I can realistically agree that they arent as "known" outside the comic READER fan bases & some others & so they wouldnt have as wide/mainstream a fanbase.

for comics their powers are good but against the realistic tone that the Marvel movies are taking they won't work that well, at best i hope for a name drop in Avengers and maybe they might be in a second feature or their own movies.

That's really the main my hope for the Avengers movie, that it will be good enough that most of the 2nd and 3rd string heroes will get a chance to make it to the big screen.
