I'll start (big surprise right? :) )

1) People who use the 'word' SWAG thinking it makes them or what they're talking about cool.

First of all "SWAG" isnt a word. the WORD is SWAGGER & it refers to a person's confidence in the way they walk or behave. it's not a catchall prefix, suffix or adjective like some of these morons try to use it today & you see it EVERYWHERE. Even Marvel's website has something about "Marvel swag" :rolleyes2:

interestingly enough my first member of the word swagger was from the pages of a Marvel comic. New Mutants back in the mid 80s & i was just a young girl. In that issue, Magik was telling Cannonball that he needed to walk into Lila's grand ball "with confidence & SWAGGER!" & Moonstar agreed w/ her. the word was hardly mainstream then. cut to like 2005-06 & thanks to that ugly troll Lil Wayne & that no talent pug Soulja Boy, suddenly EVERYBODY thinks "they got swag" << FAMILY FEUD BUZZER>>

2) kids who think they are smart/clever b/c they know how to use the latest tech toys & gadgets but can't write a simple letter, balance a check book, name even 1 supreme court justice etc. kids today are DUMB AS HELL but technology makes them think they're smart. all you have to do is watch one of these late night talk shows when the host goes out into the street & randomly interviews people. he'll interview people of all ages, races & backgrounds but when he gets to the young adults & teens?? :shootme:

This one girl- highschool age was asked where do Indians (as in India) come from. This stupid girl took more than a few moments to ponder HARD & finally answered "INDIANA?" :sure: & she was SO serious & certain. Another one- a boy- same general age was asked to name the four time zones. he answered - "Morning, Noon, Night and....I dunno"....:clown:
 
People who misuse the word "ironic" and say "supposebly" annoy me. Also, people who pronounce the "l" in "salmon" just need to not talk.
 
i was driving home last night & I JUST NOW noticed something- this town has a church on damn near EVERY other street corner! like you'll see one kind of church on one corner & then almost RIGHT next door another one!

they werent kidding when they call Tennessee the BUCKLE of "the bible belt" but having lived in Nashville for several years now...its clear that all his "religion" they revel in does nothing to elevate their primitive, racist, behind the times attitudes towards other people. it's pathetic and YES....it's ANNOYING- people who use religion to prop themselves up! that's why i posted it here :mad15:
 
Having done a pretty good bit of volunteer work in your city, I can tell you that many religious organizations (primarily Baptist and Catholic) are doing some really good work, especially among the relatively large homeless population. I also know that the Baptists sent massive amounts of volunteers and supplies after the flood (as they did in my area after a series of devestating tornados). Don't overlook the good just because some people put up a religious facade.

I was watching tv last night when a saw a preview for, yes, a preview, for The Lion King! The 1994 movie? Well, apparently it's being re-released in 3D. Honestly.

Also, I heard that James Cameron is going to be re-releasing Titanic next year in his new favourite style of film-making as well.

What's with the 3D fad? It's going to be taking over every single movie from now on and I won't be able to watch movies anymore unless I buy special glasses that will be able to turn 3D back into 2D. I don't want to buy movie glasses; that's just tacky.
 
Also annoyed by this, as instead of making old movies into 3D movies, or shooting 3D movies, they could be using that money to make MORE movies and employ more people like me who in this industry NEED THE WORK. Seriously, for one 3D movie we could get, what, 3 regular ones? At least?
 
I definitely agree with both of you. There's no need for 3D movies unless it's an all CGI movie like Avatar or 300. I'll even say Pixar based movies. But The Lion King? Titanic? I love both of those movies, but there is absolutely no need to rerelease them in 3D. Half the movies they put out now [Shark Night, Saw, Step Up, ect] shouldn't be in 3D either.

I really hate people who don't tip well. And who are rude to servers for no reason other than the fact they are self entitled pricks. If you can't afford at least a 15% tip [and that's on the lower end, the standard is usually 20!], don't go out to fucking eat. Servers get a base pay of anywhere between 2-4 dollars an hour, how do you think 5 dollars on a $110 bill is acceptable? :rolleyes:
 
MOVING sucks. Worse is when you're moving & you're under the weather & don't realize it until the end of a 12 hr moving day.

I've been ailing for over a week now. Cold like symptoms but my body's been aching which makes it worse :(

I'm staying home from work the rest of the week.
 
something that has really come to annoy the hell out of me is when a person, whether its a politician or somebody commenting on the situation, tells protestors who are exercising their right to protest w/ regards to the growing economic inequality, lack of jobs or anything else to "go get a job."

do ppl NOT pay attention to what's going on? MOST ppl who are in an uproar about these things are ppl who already do OR WANT TO WORK. What jobs are they supposed to "get" exactly? the ones being sent overseas by the dozen? the ones that are promised to college students if they "work hard & get their education?"

<<sigh>> I was just listening to newt gingrich's ol stupid ass this morning & the shit he says about protestors is so unfeeling & out of touch & yet this same asshole along w/ the rest of the rethuglicans did not have this to say about the tea party lunatics when they sold their so-called "princaples" to the devil to tap into the tea party to gain a few more seats in congress :rolleyes:

I know ppl who are college educated, have years of experience in their fields etc & yet they lost their jobs through no fault of their own & b/c it's an employers market now...companies are doing all sorts of things to weed out applicants...some of this stuff is highly unethical but still technically legal.

I just needed to rant b/c I think about what's going on around me & how there's alot of ppl out here hurting & wondering how they're gonna survive. they want to work but there's no work for them. they want to be HEARD but they're told to "get a job".

If that's the way you believe FINE. Apply that shit in YOUR house & YOUR way of life. WHY must it be FORCED ON THE REST OF US!?

The annoying shit is that i probably won't make much money on selling my car, and the fact that a new bivcycle will probably cost atleast twice as much as i will be getting from the damn junk heap on four wheels im selling.

People from WHO,WWF and other organizations who try to recruit you on the streets and do their damndest to give you a guilty conscience when you say no, they seek me out to make me feel bad.

The fact that im a magnet for drunks, junkies, people who are high and loons everytime im somewhere out of the safe confines of my home (true story, almost i think, i sometimes escape)

And that was the annoying shit, the dumb shit i will bring later.

is it an older white male calling you "honey" & "girl"? "telling her that her outfit makes her look good enough to eat"

is it older white male @ work making BALATANT racist & sexist comments?

i.e. "she should get on her magic carpet & go back to the middle east" (regarding a woman of middle eastern descent that works here & who rejected the advance of a male co worker)

"women really haven't known how to act since they started burning their bras"

is it men & women who take "extended lunches" to get pedicures, go to bible study, or have sex w/ co workers in their cars in the parking lot?

& yet...here i am, a woman who arrives to work on time ...15 minutes early EVERYDAY. Stays in her office, does her work does not use her work phone for personal phone calls...& stays OFF the radar.

I opt out of "office functions" b/c i've seen how ugly & nasty these ppl are & I don't want to break bread w/ them.

these ppl, particularly the MEN know I'm not to be crossed. When it comes to getting work down, if we need to communicate that's fine BUT there's a courteous way to do it.

But when you take a complaint investigation that you were assigned CO-RESPONSIBILITY along w/ me & you DELIBERATELY sit on YOUR part of it for WEEKS, delaying the overall turnaround time & THEN engage in questionable communication w/ the insurance company in question & then turn around & try to lay the blame on ME when the insurance company does NOT comply w/ the judgement in a timely manner & you cause ME to go before the assistant commissioner!? YES I am GOING TO POP OFF!

This RACIST, SEXIST BASTARD who is ALWAYS late & ALWAYS taking "extended lunches" didn't do HIS part on a case we were working on together & b/c of HIS conduct & lack of timely input...we did not meet our deadline & NOW the insurance comapny has reneged on their descision to do right by the consumer we were trying to assist. That consumer has now decided to go to litigation & while WE can't be named in the lawsuit...*I* was thrown under the bus.

Had i NOT quitely documented so many things regarding my shitty, racist, sexist ass co-worker's behavior toward me & in other areas...I was going to get raked across the coals...& to hear him speak of me as he did in the meeting w/ the asst. commissioner...I LOST IT & i damn near ATTACKED him. I had to be pulled out of the room.

I DONT CARE. After 4 years of this bullshit & complaining to HR, which is among the WORST in our govt depts down here....this is what it's come down to.

@ the time this happened...I didnt care what was done. They could fire me & i wouldnt care. I was so beside myself all i wanted to do was go home, get in my car & drive back to michigan...w/ the clothes I had on.

I've been off work for several days b/c of this.

I frankly NEEDED time to just stop...& reset.

I learned that my director & several co-workers all came to my defense. My director defened my work record, my attitude & habits @ the job as did my co-workers.

I contacted an attourney & have considered filing a [sexual]harrassment lawsuit against him & will name my dept.'s HR in the suit b/c they know what's been going on & they did NOTHING.

NOW they are trying to charm me in various ways including the HR manager personally telling me the man's been terminated.

I'm @ the point where I just don't give a fuck. I hate this place. I hate this town...

Just don't screw YOURSELF over by acting rashly - make the decision of what's best for you and do it. I know you have a plan for getting out of there so if it won't work for you to do it RIGHT NOW, make sure you protect yourself.

Be smart. You probably need an exit strategy but make DAMNED sure you do it on YOUR terms. Being rash will play into their gameplan which is obviously to act as if they knew little THEN that they acted when it came to light but you are being unreasonable.
 
Getting sick, temperatures up to 40.5 degrees celsius, shivering so bad the whole damn bed rattled, blue lips, blue hands. That's annoying. One helluva weekend, and the show ain't closin yet ;_;
 
I sincerely hope that a trip to the hospital is included in this story. Temps of 40.5 C are very close to inducing brain damage. Definitely will induce severe cramping and dehydration.

If not, lots of liquids, acetaminophen and perhaps an alcohol rub are in order. I know you are shivering but you need that temp to come down if it already hasn't.
 
A somewhat big part of my close family works with healthcare (doctor & nurses) so i got help fast with the high temperature, and now im on antibiotics.

Still a bit sickly but hopefully on the path to recovery. :D


Btw: should have been more clear in the first post, that the high temperature was the max temp i had, and only for a short time (half hour tops)

Now it's down to 38 degrees and slowly sinking.
