Charts: Jay-Z & Kanye album on top for second week

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - In a week that saw other worldwide rulers being run out of their palaces, it was pretty clear that Jay-Z and Kanye West would be keeping their jointly held throne. And, sure enough, the rappers' collaborative album dominated the Billboard/SoundScan album chart for a second week, even with a 59 percent decline in sales.

The article clearly states what I knew before even reading it all the way through. "they faced no stiff competition..." neither one of these two is impressive to me. Jay-Z has pretty much "aged out" & is more like a "street" version of Diddy now although I'm still trying to figure out just what products he sells & WHO buys them? West is an arrogant blowhard. The self described "voice of a generation" hasnt had much to say since he bullied a little girl (boring & talentless as SHE is to me) on national television & since gone on to compare himself to hitler. :thought:

& ppl wonder why some say "hip hop is dead"

why? b/c nobody ELSE w/ REAL TALENT is on the scene challenging them? that's the only thing that's let Nicki Minaj get over as being "the greatest female MC of all time" (which anybody whose over 25 knows good & well she isnt).

Jay-Z came @ a time when there was a true vacuum in hiphop (biggie & tupac's deaths). True enough he's done some great stuff over the years...but now? I guess I was over him after his "retirement" (knowing full well he wasnt finished) & subsequent return. his work since then has seemed like such CRAP to me.

Kanye West began as a producer & like Missy Elliot & others before him, crossed over. Whatever talent he MAY have? it's hard to see past his massive EGO that enters the room 5 minutes before he does.
