OOC: Okay, since one meaningless death meant nothing, perhaps another will wake people up. Sorry Ri and Toby, its gonna just be you two if this keeps up.

BIC:

Continuing through the forest, they stop a time or two for water after having Riana use her powers to check for its safety. Ava has wondered off to "powder her nose". A shrill scream is heard by the rest of the group who run after her. They are unable to find her until Toby notices something moving behind a group of bushes. Rushing to the rescue, they arrive just in time to see a large venus fly trap like plant swallowing Ava's leg. The huge plant turns its "mouth" in their direction and belches a truly noxious cloud forth.

"Tastes just like chicken!"

The bulge in the plants stem fights for a moment before its struggles stop. The inner juices of the plant have done thier job and killed Ava.

The talking plant slithers off into the brush and trees rapidly before anyone can do more than stand in shock. In a matter of a couple of hours they have lost two members of their party. The thought was floating through everyones mind, who would be next.....
 
OOC: Well Toby and I are having great fun.. so if the others don't show up we can handle things together.. don't we Tobe ;)

:: Watching Ava get eaten by the plant made Riana shiver in horror, extending her hand she send a couple of razor sharp ice spikes at the plant cutting of some of it's leaves as it slithers off into the bushes, turning to the others with a worried look on her face she spoke ::

"Okay let me make myself VERY clear on this.. no one and I repeat NO ONE leaves this party without clearing it withm.. if you have to pee.. you tell me cause I can't use anymore people dying on me.. we need all the people we can use on this mission"

:: Looking each member of the group in the eyes she nodded and walked on ::

"Let's move on.. no use in us staying here right now"
 
OOC: I got a pm from Sati, evidently Toby's computer crashed and it might be up to 2 weeks before he is around again. I will play him until he can get back. His involvement will just be minimal. That way he stays in but nothing too drastic happens to him.

BIC:

Toby agrees to bring up the rear of their dwindling group and keep an eye out for further trouble. He wished that Tabitha hadn't been destroyed as her predator nature could come in very handy here.
 
OOC: lmao well seems like I will have to do this on my own then, great you're around to play him :redwink:

:: Getting closer to the city Toby had seen from a distance the forest changed to a park like environment, being on her guard Riana looked for any signs of live that could cause them trouble ::

"Stay together people, sofar this is running smootly let's hope it stays that way..."
 
:: Euthalia stayed quiet, she realized that if they stayed there. They'd probably all get eaten and killed somehow. ::

"Is it possible to fly there. . . ?"
 
:: Turning to Euthalia, Riana shook her head ::

"I don't know.. I don't want to be seen flying trough the sky, we don't know if they people here have powers and how they will react to us if we do.. let's just keep a low profile and walk like "Normal" beings"

:: As they contineud with their walk they reached the city, tall modern looking buildings reached for the sky (think New York but only taller), walking trough the streets the group had the feeling they were kind of blending in without causing any kind of trouble ::
 
Leaving the wooded area, they make their way towards the city. The nagging sense of familiarity continues to bother Toby and soon Euthalia begins to sense it as well. As they reach the outskirts of the city and the heavy portals that they will enter into, both Toby and Euthalia realize that they have been here before. Turning nearly as one, they look over the city to see in the distance a much newer looking Hall Of Eons.
 
:: Euthalia gasped covering her mouth at the sight of the city. She squinted making sure her eyes were okay and realised they were. ::

"What is that still doing here? I mean it was destroyed by the lava and the earthquake when it was only accesible underwater!"

:: She said in a whisper amazed she was seeing something like that once again. The thing that had brought Sati back and at the same time tried to kill them. ::

what hadn't tried?
 
:: Looking at Toby and Euthalia, Riana saw they regonized the city, looking around herself she spoke to them ::

"So you two have been here before? tell me as much as you can about it, we need to find the other gem a.s.a.p. and that means every little piece of information could be a live saver for Ikaris"
 
"Well, it's called the hall of Eons. On the Eye of Fire quest we came upon this place where there were several ghost-like greeters that told us different things, one was about knowledge I believe. There was a chamber where our reflections stepped out of the mirrors and tried to kill us and then we passed by three paintings one was of a forest, one was of a mushroom and one was of a volcano I believe. The next chamber was of past, present and future. It did indeed show our past present and future. . . That was where Sati was revived. The ghost greeter got angry very quickly and used two of the paintings to come to life and try and kill us. Don't know how helpful that might be considering it looks newer then before."

:: Euthalia repeated all she remembered had happened there, hoping it might help. ::
 
Toby's input was pretty much the same as Euthalia's though he did make a point to mention that the last time they were here, the place was deserted.

As a group, they make the decision to travel further into the city, heading for the Hall of Eons, though they first use their powers to make themselves fit in by dressing like the natives, perhaps they would find answers there.

After making their way through the bustling city, they arrive at the front of the Hall of Eons and are about to walk up the steps when the front doors open and they are shocked to see Ikaris walking out of the building with a younger Farrah at his side. They are talking animatedly in some sort of strange language that sounds vaguely familiar but the MoE are unable to understand. The two walk down the steps and head in the opposite direction at a leisurely pace.
 
:: Seeing Ikaris and Farrah made her eyes widen, but Riana quicly senced this weren't their friends but some kind of different reality, turning to Toby and Euthalia she faintly smiled ::

"So you two know your way around.. good let's go inside and see what we can find out about this gem"

:: Walking up the stairs she looked around ::
 
Feeling the approach of evil, Ikaris turns and sees Riana, Toby and Euthalia walking up the steps of the Hall. He calls out to them in that bizarre language.

"glitE! medfrigvkrtiA eogtn flatrit!"

He and "Farrah" cautiously approach the others.
 
:: As Ikaris approached her Riana smiled warmly at him, it was good to see him again, but as he spoke she couldn't make anything of what he was saying, a confused look on her face she looked him in the eyes ::

"Hun.. it's good to see you too but I haven't got the faintes clue as too what in Hell's name you are saying"

:: Feeling Toby and Euthalia stand beside her she tried to understand what was being said to her, using her hightend senses she tried to read Ikaris' emotions.. ::
 
Ikaris continues to speak, though his words almost take on a rythmic cadence.

"riufhdegY, ahesimsW lfemwqlndA.....able to understand me. Unless you can mask your true natures, the Guardian of the Hall wont let you into the Inner Rooms."

Thanks to the translation spell Ikaris cast, both parties are able to understand what the other is saying.

"I am called Ikaris and this is Farran, Princess of Atlantis. You are?"
 
:: As the translation spell took effect they were able to understand eachother, nodding at his words Riana once again smiled ::

"I am Riana, and these fine young beings are Toby and Euthalia, we've come here on a journey from what seems like to be the past"

:: Looking into his eyes she knew Ikaris could read her emotions just as she was able to pick up on some of his ::

"And I know who you are.. we've met before"

:: Not sure if she should tell him that the reason they had made this journey was to save his live she remained silent awaiting his reaction ::
 
Ikaris looks from Riana to the others, shaking his head.

"No, I somehow think that if we had met before, I would remember it, Lady. You must be thinking of someone else. As I was saying, you haveto be very careful when entering the Hall, to mask your true natures. The Guardian of the Hall is very particular about whom it allows within."
 
:: Smiling at Ikaris as he spoke Riana realized this was indeed a different reallity and this Ikaris wasn't the one she knew back home, listening to what he told them she nodded ::

"Thank you for telling us this, we will be very careful not to let anyone know who we truelly are"

:: Looking from Toby to Euthalia she spoke turning back to Ikaris ::

"We're here looking for a special Gem, do you know anything about such an object?"
 
Ikaris stares intently at Riana and the others. He wonders if they are meaning the Gem that had appeared suddenly several years ago and now served to help power the city.

"I know of many gems, tell me more about it and perhaps I can tell you more."

Farran is growing impatient with the delay and suggests that they all return to the Palace so that they can discuss the matter in private. While Ikaris' protege hasn't embraced evil like the others, she has both the royal inflated sense of self as well as a great concern for her own desires. Ikaris' plan to corrupt one of the oldest and most powerful magical bloodlines was proceeding nicely. Farran might not be the one to turn to evil, but with subtle work, one of her descendants would.
 
OOC: I am closing this thread and have opened IQ-Atlantis Chronicles for everyone who has arrived in Atlantis. Both GoL and MoE members in Atlantis will be posting in that thread. Please remember that there is no interactions between GoL and MoE until the groups actually meet.
