Its Official: All My Children, One Life to Live Headed Online! - TVLine - TVLine

It's been officially announced that ABC's All My Children and One Life to Live will continue on the web once their final episodes on ABC have been aired. All My Children is slated to end on ABC in September 2011, and One Life to Live is slated to end January 2012.

So this is an interesting development. I didn't expect them to go to the web as much as I thought a cable network would pick them up. What i'm most interested in is if some of the higher paid actors like Susan Lucci and Erika Slezak will continue on with the shows despite them going on the internet. I highly doubt they'll be making the same amount of money once going from television to internet.

this is really going to help out web development and development of TV too cause if they can keep a strong audience online they show that web based programing has a place in the world. Not a fan of either how but I'm looking forward to them doing well in this.

YAY! I read this too last night. What i read said that the company will keep everyone currently involved from crew to actors/actresses...but it WILL be interesting to see what Susan Lucci & other heavy hitters from both shows say about it & if they will choose to continue on!

The "fan lobby" has been strong & unwavering since ABC's dreaded announcement months ago. Even I fired off a few emails & faxes when I could. I was hoping that a network would buy SoapNET & revamp it, turning it into a 24 hr. soap channel w/ current soaps & classic reruns...that's what SoapNET USED to be & one of the channels I HAD to have when purchased cable.

This development is gonna be a big boon for web tv. I cut my cable 2 years ago & I'm already started to educate myself on web tv options now b/c of this :)
